Transit through the CIS States

“Passenger shall follow passport administrative (visa included), customs and other regulations, set for passing by railway transport international communications, as for oneself as for one’s personal luggage. Railway have no right to control following of the aforesaid regulations shall not bear responsibility for consequences stemming out of their non-fulfillment by a passenger.”

For information on documents and requirements when passing the boarder between the Russian Federation and countries of near and far abroad, it is necessary to refer to appropriate diplomatic representatives embassies in Moscow and to the Departments for Visas and Registrations in one’s location.

On passengers’ transit passing through Mongolia territory in compliance with RF MFA notification, passengers should have transit visa, which is issued in the consulate of the Mongolian embassy in Moscow, Irkutsk and Ulan Ude only on final departure country visa availability.

We pay your attention on the possible necessity of transit visa availability on passing through the following countries:

  • Belarus and Czech Republic (on passing to Austria and Slovakia by train 21)
  • Hungary (on passing to Yugoslavia and Croatia by train 15)
  • Hungary and Croatia (on passing to Slovenia by train 15)
  • Mongolia (on passing to China by train 4)
  • Belarus and Poland (on passing to Germany by train 11, 13 and 19, and to Czech Republic by train 21 and 49)
  • Ukraine (on passing to Hungary by train 15)
  • Ukraine and Romania (on passing to Bulgaria by train 59 and 41)
  • Belarus (on passing to Poland by train 9 and 11, and to Lithuania by train 5 and 79)
  • Belarus, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia (on passing to Hungary by train 49)
  • Latvia (on passing to Lithuania by train 191)

Citizens of foreign countries and persons without citizenship on passing to the republics of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan or to the departure point in the third country on passing through state boarder of the Russian Federation, you should have Russian transit visas despite of having visas of the aforesaid countries.

This request applies to citizens of all countries, with which visa regulations of passing through state boarder of the Russian Federation are valid.
